WHO WE ARE

OUR MISSION

The ideology behind our name 'Basic Needs Watch' embodies the understanding that when a human being lacks access to their basic needs i.e. health, food, shelter, education, financial stability they will experience individual and collective suffering which will affect their physical, mental and emotional well being. We believe this all starts with MENTAL HEALTH. Once a person is supported and has access to treatments and training they are able to live full-filling lives and support their families/communities in a positive way.

Our philosophy is to “shine a light” for people struggling with Mental Health conditions by providing access to a network of professionals and individualized services to support them. We intervene for those who are suffering from abuse; domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, loss/grief and Trauma etc.

We also address new and emerging issues in Kenya and the region that affect peoples ability to get access to their basic needs because this is directly related to Mental well-being.
